subtracting absolute value worksheet is my biggest problem. Can any one assist me understand it? I am a novice at it. What book or other resource do you suggest for starting this subject?

I can vouch for that. Algebrator is the best technology for working out algebra homework. Been using it for some time now and it keeps on amazing me. Every problem that I type in, Algebrator gives me a correct answer to it. I have never enjoyed learning math assignment on side-angle-side similarity, hypotenuse-leg similarity and equivalent fractions so much before. I would advise it for sure.

Algebrator is a remarkable software and is definitely worth a try. You will also find several interesting stuff there. I use it as reference software for my math problems and can say that it has made learning math much more fun .
